Dear Families,
Miss Melissa and I have decided to update the format of our upcoming Extravaganza. After careful consideration, we will transition from a full show to a more intimate in-studio showcase featuring our guest master teacher.
We chose this new format for the following reasons:
– Direct Instruction: The master teacher will work with dancers for six hours, providing immediate, one-on-one feedback on technique, choreography, and costumes for all group and solo pieces. This direct interaction is far more impactful than recorded notes.
– Cost Efficiency: Families will no longer need to purchase tickets for a traditional performance.
– Teacher Preference: Our guest master teacher prefers to spend her time teaching and inspiring students through active mentorship rather than simply observing a show.
Schedule of the Extravaganza:
Friday, February 27th
– 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM: Green and Purple Team Tap Class / Red Team Rehearsal
– 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Red Team Tap Master Class / Green and Purple Team Rehearsal
– 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Parent and Student Tap History Lecture. We highly recommend one parent per family attend this informative and engaging presentation.
Saturday, February 28th
– 12:00 PM: Dancer Drop-off. Please bring all costumes, accessories, snacks, and plenty of water. (Pointe will not be held this day.)
– 6:15 PM – 7:30 PM: Parent Viewing and Reception. Parents are invited to view both production pieces and mingle with our guest master teacher. Pizza will be provided for dancers and appetizers for adults. (Further details regarding drink and dessert donations will be shared soon.)
During the event, the master teacher will also present three Rising Star awards to students demonstrating exceptional leadership, technique, and showmanship.
Best regards,
Mrs. Jen and Miss Melissa
P.S. We will reveal our amazing guest master teacher soon… so keep your eyes peeled! 💖
